A fast-paced game about getting a flock of birds from one telephone wire to the next. Featuring a sophisticated flocking algorithm for Extra-Realistic Bird Physics (patent pending). Coming soon to iPhone and Android!
Here's a showcase of some of the games I've worked on. I've cherry-picked these in particular for the impact they created, on myself as a developer and on others as players.
An innovative game in every aspect, Project TankBall is a game where audience members control real robotic tanks through the internet.
TankBall, created by the wild minds at Other Ocean Studios in Emeryville alongside Adam Savage and his Tested team, was a game that broke boundaries. Literally.
Played exclusively through streams on Microsoft's Mixer platform, TankBall allowed audience members to be placed in 3D-printed tanks and play tiny tank soccer on an actual 12x12 table.
My time at Other Ocean was almost entirely devoted to TankBall's continued development and I worked with mechanical engineers, lead programmers and marketing professionals on a daily basis.
I streamed three days a week as TankBall's host-developer-referee. Soon a small but devoted fanbase developed whose input and involvement was one of TankBall's greatest and most rewarding aspects.
On the technology side TankBall was a masterpiece. Many minds came together to create a pipeline that started in server languages, traveled through C++ and ended in Arduino. I worked extensively in this complex and delicate system to make tweaks and changes to the TankBall experience.
No mouse, no keyboard. Only voice.
Journey Through Memories is a narrative experience which only requires your voice to play. The team put top priority on accessibility for Journey, and from the main menu to game end to input from your hands is required.
Journey Through Memories details the journey of Vivi as she explores the ruins of a lost civilization. Through learning and casting spells she will uncover the fates behind the souls that inhabit the place, and begin the healing process by attempting to right whatever wrongs she can.
I helped create Journey as Technical Director. Audio was a premium for the game, both as input and output, and Journey Through Memories was recognized by UC Santa Cruz with an award for excellence in audio and music.
It's also on steam!

Aliens and Burritos
MicroRave! The result of a very intense game jam which finally reveals just how your microwave heats your frozen burrito. Or at least how it heats the outer inch of it.
Another game which leans heavily on audio and music, MicroRave is a rhythm game where you must tap to the beat and give your small microwave alien the energy to heat a frozen burrito. Truly the stakes have never been higher.
